FAQs

How do I get started?

Call us to schedule your first visit, which will include evaluation and the development of a plan of care, based on the evaluation findings. We can call your insurance to verify benefits and inquire if a prescription is needed from your physician.

What should I wear?

Wear or bring with you clothes that will be comfortable for you to move in. Shorts are helpful for treatment of the lower extremities and a short-sleeve t-shirt or tank top works well for shoulder or other upper extremities treatment. We do have hospital gowns too, if you prefer to change into one of these.

What does physical or occupational therapy treatment consist of?

Your plan of care will be individualized to address your particular problems and goals and the deficits found during your evaluation. Physical and occupational therapy may consist of the following:

  • Manual therapy techniques
  • Therapeutic exercise
  • Therapeutic activities
  • Neuromuscular re-education
  • Gait training
  • Modalities
  • Patient education
  • Home exercise program instruction

Will it hurt?

For the majority of patients we treat, we typically avoid working through increased levels of pain. There are exceptions to this, however, that are dependent upon the type of musculoskeletal injury you've had and the treatment goals and indications. This will always be discussed with you and your therapist will work within your tolerance. It isn't unusual to experience temporary soreness after the sessions, just as you would after exercising.

How long will each session last?

Each session will last about one hour.

Do you offer early morning or evening appointments?

Yes, we generally offer treatment from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. We will work with you to accommodate your scheduling needs, if they are outside of this range.

Is there parking nearby?

Yes our Brookfield location has plenty of free parking right outside the doors.

Do you accept my insurance?

We will be happy to contact your insurance company, on your behalf, to verify our network status and your benefits.
